Keeping One's Eye on the Ball: Tracking Occluding Contours of Unfamiliar Objects without Distraction
نویسندگان
چکیده
Visual tracking is prone to distractions, where features similar to the target features guide the tracker away from its intended object. Global shape models and dynamic models are necessary for completely distraction-free contour tracking, but there are many cases when component feature trackers alone can be expected to avoid distraction. We deene the tracking problem in general and devise a method for local, window-based, feature trackers to track accurately in spite of background distractions. The algorithm is applied to a generic line tracker and a snake-like contour tracker which are then experimentally analyzed with respect to previous contour-trackers. We discuss the advantages and disadvantages of our approach and suggest that existing model-based trackers can be improved by incorporating similar techniques at the local level.

The main purpose of this study was to determine the effects of word length and font type of eye movement (fixation, saccade, regression) during reading Persian familiar and unfamiliar passages. 29 female students of Shahid Beheshti University Education & Psychology Faculty participated in this study. Stimuli consisted of four different texts consisting of familiar text-lotus font, familiar-pen ...
متن کاملIf you say thee uh you are describing something hard: the on-line attribution of disfluency during reference comprehension.
Eye-tracking and gating experiments examined reference comprehension with fluent (Click on the red. . .) and disfluent (Click on [pause] thee uh red . . .) instructions while listeners viewed displays with 2 familiar (e.g., ice cream cones) and 2 unfamiliar objects (e.g., squiggly shapes). Disfluent instructions made unfamiliar objects more expected, which influenced listeners' on-line hypothes...
متن کاملThe Effect of Different Break Activities on Eye-Hand Coordination in Female Students
People face breaks in their daily tasks that effect on their daily life. The present study was designed to evaluate the effect of different break activities on eye-hand coordination in female students. In the current experimental study conducted with repeated measures design, 36 high school female students with age range 13-15 years old were conveniently selected. In order to evaluate participa...
متن کاملMotion-based Object Segmentation using Active Contours
The segmentation of an image sequence into meaningful regions is an important early step in computer vision. We describe a motion segmentation algorithm that tracks contours through an image sequence using active contours. This approach eliminates the problems of feature correspondence and feature drop-outs encountered with other feature-based tracking techniques. It also allows accurate recove...
